This puffy, crimpy medium wool combed top has a micron count of about 30 and a staple length of about 4.5”. It’s got a helical crimp, as opposed to a zigzag one, which makes the fiber and finished yarn super bouncy. Use this for sweaters, socks, and mittens- anything that will see a lot of wear.
This particular Cheviot is a Brecknock Hill Cheviot. It's a bit softer and longer-stapled than my usual Cheviot. The breed originated in Wales and is a result of breeding Welsh Mountain, Leicester, and Cheviot sheep. They have adorable faces!
